Rock Leather Designs is a small business, opened in 2018 and based in Gillette, Wyoming.

For me leathercraft began as a hobby that originally drew my interest through necessity.

At the age of 17 I discovered the allure of Rock and Roll and soon bought my first bass guitar. Besides the flashy instrument there was something all my favorite rock stars had that really added to each of their unique styles. They all had one of a kind, leather guitar straps that fit their personalities.

A small amount of research confirmed my suspicions that guitar straps that looked that good would cost more than I was comfortable spending, especially when a $20 strap would do the job and I had my eyes on a full stack of Ampeg speakers like the ones used by my idols.

But I never lost that desire to own a strap that would bring me that much closer to looking and feeling like a real rock star.

I've been a wrestling fan for most of my life and a wrestling belt collector for the past ten years. I bought my first replica belt on ebay. Because I was a fan who grew up in the Attitude era, the Big Eagle was my favorite championship as a kid and I had to have one.

As collectors know the main difference in holding a replica belt in your hands and the real thing is the strap. No mass produced replica belts have a strap that looks, feels, or moves like the real leather straps seen on television.

So to solve two problems at once I started studying and learning about leather. I made a plan to save a lot of money in both my hobbies by doing all the work myself and only paying for the cost of materials.

I bought all the tools necessary to releather my only replica belt at that time, and I would practice all the skills and techniques by making my first guitar strap.

After making my own guitar strap, and winning a blue ribbon for it at the local fair, my knowledge of leathercraft was still very limited, but sufficient to the point that I could at least attempt to releather my only replica belt.

Even though it didn't turn out perfect the difference was striking.

To me my replica looked like the real thing, and by investing more time than money in it, I saved myself hundreds of dollars.

Of course this kind of success in something you care about only encourages you to keep going, and years later when the opportunity arose to do my hobby for a living I jumped on it.

I knew I could work hard at a job I didn't care about, or I could work hard at something creative that I love. Even though I knew running a business may be the most difficult job I ever had the choice was obvious, and Rock Leather Designs was born.

We can not guarantee delivery times, only the quality of our products.

Our Leather Straps are approximately 4mm thick. With the addition of the backing leather glued on, our belts are approximately 5mm thick.

Products with features like painting or hand stitching, etc. cost more simply because these features require more work hours.

For any refund requests, we can offer a full refund of our profit and only deduct the small percentage of processing fees charged by Paypal/Square.

Once a order goes into production it may no longer be canceled. The order will be completed and shipped. After receiving the product the customer may return it at their own expense (custom products may not be returned).

For obvious reasons, any re-leathering service is classified as a custom product.

Due to the variety of replica plates available, the only way we can guarantee a perfect fit is if you send your plates to us. We can not guarantee a perfect fit for mail-out type straps.
